Hey, I’m Dylan.
I’m into the kind of stuff that sits somewhere between art and mystery like movies, games, and stories that make you think or feel something you can’t quite put into words. I started this blog as a space to talk about the things that stick with me: weird, beautiful, or unsettling ideas that don’t always fit into neat categories.
I’m big on art films, especially horror that’s more about atmosphere and emotion than jump scares like Hereditary, The Witch and Suspiria. The kind that makes you uneasy in the best way like you just watched something you’re still unpacking hours later.
I’m also really into video games as art, especially ones that do more with silence and mood than dialogue. Games like ICO and Shadow of the Colossus hit that perfect balance of loneliness, beauty, and meaning that’s difficult to find anywhere else.
And when I’m not watching or playing, I’m probably running or playing Tabletop games, like Old School Essentials, Swords and Wizardry and sometimes modern games like Call of Cthulhu or Runequest; building strange worlds, flawed characters, and stories that shift with a roll of the dice. There’s something about roleplaying games that end up messy and unpredictable that makes them so special to me.
Most of what you’ll find here is me thinking out loud. Reflections, essays, and whatever ideas come up from the stuff I’m watching or playing. It’s part analysis part creative ramblings.
If you like quiet horror, strange beauty, or just thoughtful takes on art and games, you’ll probably feel at home here.
